Birth & family background of Kareena kapoor : She was born on the September 21st of the year 1980, in the great and iconic family of Indian Film Industry i.e. Kapoor family of legendary Raj Kapoor. She is the proud daughter Babita and Randhir Kapoor, who were also the famous star of Bollywood, in their own times of 70s and 80s. The very gorgeous and renowned Bollywood actress Karishma (Karizma) Kapoor is the elder sister of Kareena. Kareena is associated with the greatest family of Bollywood, as Prithviraj Kapoor was her grand-grandfather, iconic Raj Kapoor was her Grandfather and Rishi & Nitu Kapoor are her uncle & aunty. Ranbir kapoor and Ridhhima Kapoor are Kareena’s cousins. Her mom was belonged to a Sindhi family (Shivdasani) before marriage, and her father belongs to a Punjabi family. Her entire family has given a great contribution to the Indian Film industry.
Personal life of Kareena Kapoor: She is also famous by nickname i.e. Bebo, and she like it very much, as well. According to her birth, Kareena has her Zodiac sign- Virgo. Kareena is single, but in a relationship, nowadays. Although, there are heavy rumors that suggest she will marry very soon with her boy-friend Saif Ali Khan, who is also a renowned Bollywood celebrity.
She was born in Mumbai and her name was derived from a book named Anna Karenina, and her mom was used to read this book during her pregnancy. Kareena considered herself as a naughty and spoilt child in her childhood. She also described herself in various interviews that she gave to several news channels and magazines. According to Kareena herself, she was greatly influenced by her iconic filmy background, but vintage Indian actresses Meena Kumari and Nargis were her inspiration for becoming a successful artist. She was used to dress-up with her mother’s outfits and act in front of mirror, in her childhood. Her father was not in favor of women of his family to work in the film industry; this caused the separation of Kareena’s parents. After that incident, she grew up in Lokhandwala with her mother, who worked to support her daughters, in their lives. Academics of Kareena kapoor: She had done her schooling from Welham Girls Boarding School of Dehradun. Before that she was in a nursery school of Mumbai named Jamnabai Narsee School. As per Kareena, she was a bright student in almost every subject except mathematics. After matriculation, she continued her study with commerce at Mithibai College located in Mumbai’s Vile Parle. She also done a two months course from US’s Harvard University, in microcomputers. Kareena also developed her interest in Law, so she had done a one year course from Churchgate’s Government Law College. After her studies of Law, she decided to go back for her initial desire of becoming a successful actress. Then, Kareena joined an acting institute of Andheri, in Mumbai. Kareena was mentored by Mr, Kishore Namit Patel, who was the member of FTII, at those times.
Kareena in film industry: The acting career of Kareena was initially scheduled to start with “Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hain” in 2000, which was directed by Rakesh Roshan, and his son Hritik Roshan was in the Lead role in it. Kareena refused the film due to the main focus was over Hritik, in that film. Well, she made her debut, in June of the same year, as she was in the lead role with Abhishek Bacchan in the movie named “Refugee”, which was directed by JP Dutta. The film was based on the 1971’s Indo-Pak war, and it was also a love story of a girl from Bangladesh, who was trying to migrate illegally to Pakistan with her family and a boy, who was a refugee also help them to reach their destiny. Kareena got the Filmfare award for this movie as the best Debutant Actress of year 2000.
In the next year, Kareena came up with a romantic-drama movie named Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hain, in which Tushar Kapoor was opposite to her. Earlier in 2001, Kareena appeared in two movies: first one was Yaadein with Hritik Roshan and Jackie Shroff, in which her chemistry with Hritik was appreciated. The second one for 2001 was Abbas-Mastaan’s Ajnabee with Bobby Deol, Akshay Kumar and Bipasha Basu, which was a thriller movie. Later in the year, Kareena was appeared in the epic movie “Ashoka” opposite to Shahrukh Khan. For this movie, she was nominated for the first time in Filmfare’s Best Actress. Kareena’s last release for the year 2001 was Karan Johar’s Multi-Starrer movie “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”.
In next two years, she had done 6 more movies namely Mujse Dosti Karoge, Talaash, Jeena Sirf Mere Liye, Kushi, Mian Prem Ki Diwani Hu and LOC Kargil. All of those failed to do proper business over the Box-office.
In 2004, Kareena again came-up with 6 more movies: Chameli, Yuva, Dev, Fida, Aitraaz, Hulchul. For Chameli and Dev, she got the Filmfare awards for special performer and best actress (critics) respectively.
Bewafa, Kyon ki, and Dosti were her movies for the year 2005.
